If you are a graduate student or early-career scholar new to geospatial data science and want to learn more about integrating them into your research, or are already working with data-intensive geospatial science approaches, this Summer School will offer new and exciting opportunities for your professional development, and will help you develop interdisciplinary skills and build new connections with others in related fields.
I-GUIDE will offer travel awards through generous support of the National Science Foundation (NSF) for participating in the Summer School. Awardees will have their travel and meal costs covered and shared hotel accommodations provided during the Summer School. Travel, lodging, and other arrangements will be made directly by UCAR and no reimbursements will be made.
Eligibility:
- Applications will be accepted from current and incoming graduate students and early-career scholars currently enrolled in or working at a US institution. Early-career scholars are defined as within four years of completing their PhDs.
- Applicants who are not US citizens will need to report their visa status.
- Awardees must be able to participate on-site at UCAR for the entire program. There will be no remote participation options available.
Application process:
- Upload a brief statement of interest and a current CV (1-2 pages).
- Current graduate students or post-docs will need to submit a letter of recommendation from their advisor describing how the Summer School experience will benefit their research activities. Current faculty do not need to submit this letter.
All application documents must be received by Friday March 31, 2023. Awardees will be notified by Monday April 17, 2023.
